Content Template registration is a mandatory activity for any company that wants to send out messages to its client. You can do this quite easily through the Vodafone-Idea DLT portal by following the below steps:

  1. Log into your account from VILPOWER Portal
  1. Find the “Template” option on the right side of the page and click to expand. Select “Content Template” from the drop-down as shown below.

  2. Once the page loads, find and click on the “+Add” button on the top right hand of the page.

  3. The below page with the explained options will load.


    • Template Type:

Promotional – Messages containing promotional content only. Read more about it here.

Transactional – Messages intended for the BFSI sector and other banking-related transactional messages only (like OTPs). Read more about it here.

Service – This has 2 types of messages Service Implicit and Service Explicit. Read more about Service Implicit and Service Explicit messages to understand further.

  • Header:

This refers to the SenderID or the Header that has already been registered to your company that you want to use to send the messages. Select the relevant ones from the drop-down provided.

  • Message Text Type:

This helps define the language used for the message and will help identify if this is Text – English and a normal message, or if the is Regional – Regional languages sent in the Unicode form.

  • Consent Template:

Consent Template is needed only for 2 types of messages, Promotional and Service Explicit. Kindly select the consent if you are creating a template under these categories. Read more about the Consent Template here.

  • Brand Name: 

This is an optional field, which you may choose to use if you are executing messages on behalf of another company, and you already have the Brands approved. Read more on how to send messages on behalf of other companies and how to register a brand.

  • Template Type:

This gives you to option to select from pre-approved or pre-set templates, or if these do not fit your needs you may type out the message by selecting Custom.

  • Template Name

Provide a unique name to identify the template.

  • Template Message:

The content of the template that you want to register goes here. Make sure you type out the message using the variable parameters {#var#} correctly.

Once all the details have been filed, preview the message in the display on the right side of the page and click on “Submit” to submit this for approval.

The registrar will review the request and approve the template within 48 hours.
